I’ve been wanting to try Mod Podge for quite some time. I’ve seen so many amazing transformations with the stuff. Little did I know it was so easy to use!
I started with this little wooden stand that I found for $3.25 at Goodwill.
I didn’t like the leather pulls, so I raided my husband’s knob stash in the garage. I let him handle the drilling.
I changed up the color with some aubergine spay paint (my favorite) and a piece of clearance scrapbook paper (19 cents). I cut the paper to fit the front of the drawers and ‘Mod-Podged’ it on with a disposable foam brush.
I think I like the placement of the drawers in the second picture the best. I’m planning on using it in my craft room to store sewing notions. With the remainder of the aubergine, I painted this slightly broken and unloved thread holder. I found it in a bin at the Goodwill Outlet. It probably cost about a quarter or so, much less than the retail of $19.99.
So it holds 58 spools rather than 60, no big deal to me.
Time to sew!
